Drafts and Breezes

Doorknobs seem to be on my mind this week:

Although the building had been flattened,

He still saw its architecture in his mind’s eye.

Impulsively, he reached for a nonexistent doorknob,

Turned it in thin air, stepped forward,

And found himself sequestered by walls

That were disguised as drafts and breezes.
