Gentle sibilant noises disturbed her sleep.
She slid out of bed and stepped to the window.
Blue sparks swarmed across the frosted pane
And swayed to the twang of her voice
As she recited a singsong devotional.
She ignored the knock at her bedroom door,
And the saccharine voice that called her name.
“You can’t stay here,” she whispered to the bees.
