Umber (39.1 — Snowy Range)

July 6, 2012 § 1 Comment

I squinted at a slightly out-of-focus snapshot of Leroy holding an overflowing mound of gravel in his hands, which he thrust toward the camera, gravel spilling everywhere.  He looked slightly crazed, or maybe just highly elated.  He was shouting, “Vera, honey, we’re rich, we’re rich, we’re rich!”

§ One Response to Umber (39.1 — Snowy Range)

Wait…how can you hear Leroy shouting in the photo? I know the people in the photos can communicate with each other at times but when the narrator hears the voices they are in her present time, right? Can you, the narrator, also hear Leroy in the time in which story is set? Past my bedtime…maybe I’m foggy.
